Begin in the cultural capital of Fes and journey through the Middle Atlas: Ifrane’s alpine charm, cedar forests of Azrou, the scenic Ziz Valley, and into the Sahara at Merzouga. Enjoy camel treks under sunrise & sunset, time with nomads, visits to fossil towns, and plenty of dramatic landscapes before returning to Fes. Itinerary
Day 1: Fes → Ifrane → Midelt → Ziz Valley → Merzouga (≈ 7 hrs drive with stops)
  • Pickup from your riad/hotel in Fes.
  • Drive through Ifrane (nicknamed "the Switzerland of Morocco") and visit cedar forests in Azrou.
  • Continue through Midelt, then the beautiful Ziz Valley.
  • Reach Merzouga in the afternoon. Camel trek into the dunes at sunset. Evening in a luxury desert camp.

    Overnight in Merzouga desert camp.

Day 2: Merzouga Region Exploration
  • Sunrise among the dunes followed by breakfast.
  • Explore Merzouga region: nomadic villages, the Khamlia village with Gnawa music, wild lake, palms & fossils.
  • Dinner and overnight in a hotel or lodge in Merzouga.

    Overnight in Merzouga.

Day 3: Merzouga → Rissani → Erfoud → Ziz Valley → Ifrane → Fes (≈ 7 hrs drive)
  • After breakfast, depart desert behind. Visit Rissani’s souk and Erfoud’s fossil workshops.
  • Drive back through the Ziz Valley, stop for panoramic views.
  • Pass through cedar forests near Ifrane.
  • Arrive in Fes by evening; drop-off at your hotel or riad.
    End of tour.
